Last week, Maheshwari from Yoga With Maheshwari nominated me for the Sunshine Award. She is a certified yoga teacher and her blog is all things yoga and its philosophy. It’s pretty fantastic, so you should check it out. Anyway, I’m pretty new to the blogosphere and I didn’t know what the Sunshine Award was, but it sounded happy, and sure enough it is! The Sunshine Award is “given to bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”. I am full of gratitude for the nomination, especially since I haven’t been around all that long!
There are some rules to the nomination:
1. If you are nominated, blog a post linking back to the person/blog that nominated you.
2. Answer some questions, nominate ten fellow bloggers and link their blogs to the post!
3. Comment on your nominees’ blogs to let them know you’ve nominated them.
So, here are the questions:
1. Who is your favorite philosopher?
I don’t know that I have one favorite. I do love Kahlil Gibran. And Kurt Vonnegut (if he counts – he totally should). Especially his memoir-esque “A Man Without a Country.” I read a lot more novels than I do philosophy, but I’m always searching for the philosophic backdrop that I believe is present in every good novel.
2. What is your favorite number?
I’ve always liked the number 77, for no particular reason. And 23, the number of my birth date.
3. What is your favorite animal?
I love all animals, but if I have to pick a favorite? Wolves. They are so majestic, wise, and just amazing in general.
4. What are your Facebook and Twitter URLs?
I don’t friend random people on facebook, but you are more than welcome to follow me on twitter @brithatsme623.
5. What is your favorite time of the day?
I love mornings. When the sun is just rising, the birds are singing, the grass is wet and everything is just waking up. Every morning is a fresh start, a new beginning, a clean slate – it’s a chance to say, “Okay! Whatever I did yesterday, it’s in the past. How can I make today the best today it can be?”
6. What was your favorite vacation?
I feel like there’s a difference between “vacations” and “trips”. I’ve travelled all over the world on “trips,” but I wouldn’t say I’ve taken too many “vacations”. The one vacation that will always stick out in my mind is a family trip to Hawaii in 2008. Ooooh, that was nice.
7. What is your favorite physical activity?
I’m always moving! My top three are yoga, running, and ballroom dance. I figure skated for 10+ years when I was little, and also did dressage for about 6 years (through high school). I’m currently training for a half-marathon.
8. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink?
I’m a huge tea drinker. My favorite is rooibos.
9. What is your favorite flower?
When I was little I used to answer this “chrysanthemum” just because I thought it was impressive that I knew how to spell chrysanthemum. In truth though, I love tiger lilies and orchids.
10. What is your passion?
My passion is music. I include it somehow in 99% of what I do!
And now…10 other blogs you should check out! (in no certain order)
Thanks again to Maheshwari!
All smiles,
b

Thanks for the shout out b! I really connected with your thoughts in #6. I think I need a vacation not another trip! :0)
